A fantastic course for anyone new to computers & who would like to gain a good understanding of how PCs work and how to use popular software programs. #2 Institute of Leadership and Management

ILM Level 3

This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilities but no formal training and are serious about developing your abilities. MOS Core, MOS Expert & MOS Master

Microsoft Office Specialist are a suite of exams designed to demonstrate your proficiency in using one or more Microsoft Office programs and in deploying Microsoft Office Cloud and hybrid solutions.

In the LWETB Athlone Training Centre we offer certification in Office 2016 which can lead to a sole qualification in any single Office product of your choice or you can build up to the MOS Expert or MOS Master. More details can be found at:

#5 Changing Career to the IT Sector

No Accreditation

This course is a gateway to more advanced IT courses through the eCollege platform. It provides access to entry level Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications which cover three fundamental areas of IT.

Course Topics

  • Software Development

Studying these three courses will give you a solid knowledge foundation in each area, and help you to decide on a field in which to specialise. Our tutors are all IT professionals, and will be available throughout the programme to offer advice on your academic progress, your career goals and the wider IT sector. We will tailor a further education plan based on your previous experience, qualifications and aptitude you have shown through the programme.

This is a gateway to the three accredited Microsoft courses listed above, so there is no official certification. However, as you submit the practical activities, our tutors will intuitively begin to understand your strengths and your methods of learning, and help you make pragmatic decisions on which area to pursue.

#6 Introduction to Computers - Equalskills

EqualSkills Certificate

This course is for anybody who is new computers and wishes to learn the very basics. EqualSkills is for those with no experience whatsoever of computers and the Internet. EqualSkills helps to remove the fear of using a computer by using a simple, non-threatening approach to educating individuals in the basic skills of using a computer, email and the Internet.

The benefits of the EqualSkills programme:

  • Provides complete beginners with a fun, informal and uncomplicated introduction to computers and the Internet for.
  • Gives an appreciation and basic understanding of computers and the Internet.
  • Builds confidence – and provide a basis to encourage further exploration and development of computer and Internet skills.

How long does it take to complete?
The programme takes between 8 and 15 hours of training, depending on the learner's ability. The whole programme is designed to be flexible and allows individuals to learn at their own pace

This online PRINCE2® Foundation course will give you a robust knowledge and grounding in PRINCE2®, the world’s most popular project management methodology. You will earn an internationally recognised PRINCE2® Foundation certificate when you successfully complete the course.
